FemMo

$9,500.00

FemMo emerged from three months of entering the studio each day and creating purely from instinct — painting, sketching, and layering whatever emotions needed somewhere to exist. The work became a release of raw feeling rather than a planned composition, balancing messy intuition with intimate realism. Throughout the process, two forms repeatedly surfaced naturally: the black cat and the black orchid. Both carry a haunting beauty and are often tied to mystery, femininity, darkness, and the unknown.

I became fascinated by why these symbols are so frequently connected to women — why beauty, softness, danger, and emotional depth are often intertwined. Surrounding the hyperreal forms are instinctive marks, drips, and layered textures that mimic fragments of thought and emotion. FemMo explores womanhood through vulnerability, curiosity, and the overlooked complexities that exist beneath what is immediately seen.

Oil and acrylic on canvas, 50 × 60 inches, 2025
