A Note From the Studio
As an artist, I am drawn to moments of vulnerability and connection that reveal something honest about memory, emotion, and the way we experience one another. Working primarily in oil, I focus on capturing the beauty found in people and in the quiet details that surround them. Moving from how light lies across the skin, to softly given expressions, and the small fleeting gestures that make a moment feel alive (even an instance of sharp humor).
I am especially interested in the details that live inside a moment: the tiny reflection in someone’s eyes when they look at another person, the way a freckle catches light for a second, or how wind lifts and shifts someone’s hair without warning. These subtle details often hold just as much feeling as the figures themselves, and I try to hold onto that sense of presence in my work.
Alongside my paintings of the figure and shared moments between people, I create expressive drawings based on emotional experience. These works translate feeling into layered, instinctive marks that reflect the rhythms of daily life and the quiet cycles we move through.
Whether I am painting intimate portraits, couples, or wedding moments, my goal is to slow time down just a little. I want people to recognize the softness in themselves and in each other, and to preserve those moments as something they can return to.
